Rossend Nobas, for a price of 9,000 pesetas under the contract signing these two faunas charge of compositionally close the core group of the source. They are surely the formal question and its relationship with the concept of fertility which leads us to find these two faithful followers of the entourages of Bacchus, nothing usual in the representations of the birth of Venus. To the left of the goddess appears the god Pan playing the syrinx, flute invented while chasing the nymph of the same name, to escape him, he became a group of reeds. She takes its attributes as god of flocks: a goat in her womb and shepherd's staff; also it shows us the horns while seem to remember, longed for, the missing beauty of Syrinx now caught with his hand in the form of musical instrument. To the right of Venus, making pendant, Nobas makes a faun, covered with a lion skin and decorated with vine leaves, referring to the Bacchanalian cult. With his hands he takes two ear tags leaving open-mouthed at the sight of the beautiful nymphs who inhabit the source. The technical mastery of the sculptor is quite remarkable in this couple: just look at the successful expression of the faces of fauns and compositional balance established between them and the rest of the set.
