The Raval district saw the birth of Catalan rumba in the 1950s. Almost seventy years later, two medians of the Calle de la Cera will show sculptures in homage to this musical genre, thanks to a participatory process carried out with the gypsy community of the neighborhood.
The high season of the beach, from May 29 to September 17, starts with the activation of all municipal services. This year, some improvements are being introduced on the beaches, such as the relocation of sands, structural repairs of walls and restoration of pavements to the promenades, and an environmental information campaign is launched to share citizenship with the care of these spaces.
Believed to have originated in the 13th century as a pig market, the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria has grown into one of the finest outdoor markets in the world.
