To the dead barcelonians in the Nazi extermination camps

Parc de la Ciutadella

Sculptor: André Fauteux
Materials: Iron and stone monolith
Inauguration: December 5, 1987

The City of Barcelona addressed a request to dedicate a monument to the people of Barcelona killed by the nazis in extermination camps during the Second World War, taking advantage of a work by Canadian André Fauteux, who had worked for weeks at the Casa de Caridad in the art project Triangle, which also directed the sculptor Anthony Caro.

It is an iron ring with a hanging stone, and it is located in one of the gardens of the Ciutadella. It was opened in 1987.

The proposal came from the Amical of Mauthausen and other concentration camps.
