Centennial of the Zoo Park

In 1992 the Zoo celebrated its centenary by installing a bronze lion, from the ones carved by Agapito Vallmitjana and Abarca, the author of the Lion Hunter, in the years of the Universal Exposition of 1888, a sample of which is found in the Stairway of the Palace of the Generalitat. The plaster mold was donated by the Art Museum of Catalonia and the Zoo made a bronze copy. The lion is very close to the Lady of the umbrella.
