Torso of a woman
Lobby of the City Hall (access through Plaça Sant Jaume)
Sculptor: Enric Casanovas
Materials: Limestone
The writer Josep Pla believed that "the breath of Catalan living things is what encourages sculptures in Casanovas". Sculptor novecentista highly valued at the time, this Torso of a Woman (1929) found in the municipal hall has not had much luck. First he slept for decades in the municipal warehouse until Oriol Bohigas in his time Planning Officer, took him out to be part of the sculptures had to embellish, in October 1985, the new Industrial Park Spain. Vandalism baited with delicate bust and was removed, restored and brought in the municipal hall. A copy in bronze, which cost 2,400,000 pesetas, was put back in the Industrial Park Spain.
