To decorate the facade, Montaner foresaw a frieze of more than one hundred white shields where would allusive drawings that served at the restaurant. The little time available was the reason that in 1888 only half of the expected shields were put, all focused on drinks, especially alcoholic, you could eat in the restaurant.
Each of the shields consists of twelve ceramic pieces distributed in four rows of three pieces each. They do 2.40 meters high. They are irregular in shape and width, which is not the same at all, is one meter on average. The drawings that make no height 1.90, ie people that are life-size. We do not know who decided the issues to be included in each.
