Opposite the church of Santa María del Mar one of the oldest sources of Barcelona, popularly known as Source of Lords rises. The reason it came to be used by the residents of Montcada Street and the Paseo del Born, the aristocracy of the Middle Ages. It was inaugurated on December 5, 1403, in the parish cemetery. In 1526 a neighbor, Gaspar Ferrer, asked permission to plant on the orange source, myrtles and various vegetables. The source of Santa Maria or the Lords was the subject of even a quatrain 1860: "The things I want / are these:. Good luck, / water of Santa Maria, / One tartana and orchard" In the early twentieth century it was commonly used as wall where propaganda posters stuck.
