Joan Miró wanted to give his city a sculpture to commemorate its 90th anniversary and chose this woman, carved in 1981. gave in 1983, a few weeks before he died, and shortly after the inauguration in April, his work woman and bird in the park then called still the slaughterhouse and which now bears the name of the artist.
