The municipal architects Màrius Quintana and Montserrat Periel designed the current Cathedral Avenue in 1991. The project included an ideograph by Joan Brossa that formed the lyrics Barcino and which served to house visitors in the old city. It was inaugurated in 1994. The seven letters of metal line up against the Roman wall and sometimes they help rest someone who stands or because a living figure of those that are displayed before the tourists rise. Barcino was the main name of the Colonia Iulia Augusta Faventia Paterna Barcino, the Roman city that is the most immediate antecedent of the current Barcelona, the walls are close.
