Palace Cervelló-Giudice

It is located in a palace of Montcada which was built mainly during the sixteenth century, using parts of a previous construction of the fifteenth century

It was the residence of the noble family of Cervello until the eighteenth century, when it became the residence of Giudice, an important line of Genoese merchants.

The building surrounds a beautiful courtyard from which climbs a ladder covered with arches rampant. It is in this part of the house where most of the fifteenth century elements: columns, capitals or moldings Renaissance type.

This palace has a violent history at that time. Bank workers and fishermen's wives ransacked the building in 1624 to protest the exploitation suffered at the hands of the Italian banking family.

The Gothic facade is made of stone blocks perfectly squared. The goal is adovellat. The old mullioned windows were replaced in the seventeenth century by the current balconies, the openings of which are outlined with molded canopy. Above is a photo utility, under which four gargoyles smooth spring where the water poured from the roof.
